After you get your Nintendo Wii you need to then decide what Nintendo Wii hardware you want to add to your basic system. Nintendo offers an extensive line of accessories for your Wii, but this article will focus on two that are must haves for the hard core gamer.

Nintendo Nunchaku

This is probably the most versatile and necessary piece of Nintendo Wii hardware you can get. The nunchaku clips onto the main Wii controller and allows you some additional buttons as well as a second controller that can move in the XYZ axis. Very useful for games where you can use the main controller for one action and the nunchaku for a second. In addition to allowing you to have more control in current games, this Nintendo Wii hardware is being focused on for development of future games. Not included with the main system yet, this Nintendo Wii hardware is slowly used and focused on in more and more games. In addition, for some extra components you need to have the nunchaku. One of those is the Nintendo Zapper.

Nintendo Zapper

This piece of Nintendo Wii hardware is used as a gun extension for the main controller. It clips on the top main controller and the nunchaku. By using both of these together the zapper allows you to not only aim and shoot, but control your player’s movements as well. This piece of hardware is perfect for first person shooter games and adds a whole new element to your gaming experience. Unlike the nunchaku, the zapper can not be used on all games. However, the games that it does work for are usually specifically designed for use with the Zapper and cannot be really be played otherwise. So while this piece of hardware is not as widely used as the nuchaku, it does open up a whole collection of games that could not be played without its use.

Both of these pieces of Nintendo Wii hardware add unique elements to your gaming system. Without them many of the best Nintendo games out there would not be playable, but these controllers increase the overall enjoyment of your system. There are many different pieces of hardware out there to choose from, but the zapper and the nunchaku are the two that are most widely used. Neither of these two items are too expensive and either can be purchased most likely where you get your Wii, so if you pick them up when you make your initial purchase, you will not regret it.
